Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring Pharmacists for a California state correctional facility in Crescent City, California. These positions are 6-month contracts with the ability to extend.

Qualifications of a correctional Pharmacist:

  • Active CA Pharmacist license

  • BLS from the American Heart Association

Duties/Responsibilities of a correctional Pharmacist:

  • Review and verify prescriptions for accuracy and legality.

  • Assess prescriptions for proper drug selection, dosage, and interactions.

  • Prepare, compound, and dispense medications.

  • Perform computer order entry and label prescriptions.

  • Fill prescriptions and prepare/check IV admixtures.

  • Provide consultations to medical staff and review committees.

  • Maintain records of drugs, poisons, and narcotics per regulations.

  • Oversee medication inventory and dispensing records.

  • Implement and maintain medication delivery systems.

  • Assist in estimating drug requisitions as needed.

  • Supervise and instruct Pharmacy Technicians.

  • Perform other assigned duties.
